Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006045345A2] An apparatus for switching between different implementations of a transport protocol, said apparatus comprising: a plurality of different implementations of a transport protocol; an upper transport layer interface for connecting said plurality of different transport protocol implementations with the layer above the transport layer; a lower transport interface for connecting said plurality of a transport protocol implementations with the layer below that transport layer, whereas said upper transport interface and said lower transport interface respectively are capable of switching their connection between the different transport protocol implementation based on switching information, and a control module for determining the switching information for switching the connection between the upper interface and the plurality of transport protocol implementations and the lower transport interface and the plurality of transport protocol implementations such that for a certain communication session the transport protocol implementation which yields an optimised data flow is selected.
