Abstract (en)
The vegetable (G), which can be a carrot or a stalk of celery, is moved by a pushing element (7) along a guide with a v-shaped cross section (9) to a cutting blade (10) for the removal of a front segment. The position is detected by a sensor. When the sensor recognizes the rear end of the vegetable another cut is made. The item (G) is pushed into a tube (20) moving from a horizontal into a vertical position in order to guide the vegetable (G) to the cutting unit (30) creating star-, shamrock-, heart- or other attractively shaped slices.

In einer Vorrichtung (1) wird Gemüse (G) mittels einem Förderband (6) mit Mitnehmern (7) zu einer Schneidvorrichtung (10) transportiert, wo kontrolliert die Enden des Gemüses abgeschnitten werden, worauf der Mitnehmer (7) das Gemüse (G) in ein Zentrierrohr (20) schiebt. Dieses Zentrierrohr (20) ist mit Federelementen (26) bestückt, die das zuzuschneidende Gut parallel zur Längsachse des Schneidrohres hält. Das Zentrierrohr (20) wird dann in eine Position (20') geschwenkt, worauf das Gemüse (G) durch eine Schneidmatrize (30) in ein Führungsrohr (60) gedrückt wird. Das nun seine dekorative Gestalt aufweisende Gemüse wird schliesslich auf eine rotierende Schneidscheibe (70) gedrückt, worauf man dann die gewünschten Scheiben (S) erhält.
