Abstract (en)

A position switch with movable contacts having positive operation is designed for cutting off a supply current from a primary shut-down circuit to an auxiliary signaling circuit of a machine or system. The switch has a common input terminal (2) connected to a voltage source, first and second output terminals (3, 4),connectable to a primary shut-down circuit and an auxiliary signaling circuit of a machine or system respectively, first (5) and second pairs (6) of stationary contacts in electrical connection with the first (3) and second (4) output terminals respectively, a pair of movable contacts (7) in electrical connection with the common input terminal (2) and designed for alternately interacting with the stationary contacts of the first (5) and second pairs (6) respectively. The pair of movable contacts (7) is normally in contact with the first pair of stationary contacts (5). Means (8) are provided for positive operation of the pair of movable contacts (7) to cause them to move apart from the first pair of stationary contacts (5) thereby causing positive opening of the primary circuit and simultaneous closing of the auxiliary circuit.
