Abstract (en)
The gap has a corona electrode that is electrically attached to main electrodes. A distance (d) of an ionization edge of corona discharge to a surface of the main electrode is greater that an opening width (s) between the main electrodes. Ionized beam or light produced by the corona discharge partially illuminates a volume region between the main electrodes and exposed surfaces of the main electrodes. Free electrodes of the corona discharge reach the volume region between the main electrodes.

Eine gasisolierte Schaltfunkenstrecke ist mit einer Koronaelektrode versehen, die entweder am Zwischenraumbereich der beiden Hauptelektroden als mindestens Spitze endet oder diesen ringförmig umgibt. Die Koronaelektrode ist elektrisch mit einer der beiden Hauptelektroden verbunden. Sie hält eine geforderte geometrische Lage zu den beiden Hauptelektroden ein und initiiert die Zündung photoelektrisch oder elektrisch.
