Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006097661A1] The invention concerns an therapeutic endocavity probe for treating tissues in particular of the prostrate by emitting focused ultrasonic waves, comprising a support (2) forming a guide tube (4) extended by a mounting head (3) for at least one therapy transducer (7) with active surface emitting the focused ultrasonic waves and having a front face with total spherical surface wherein is provided a surface window, for mounting an imaging transducer (11). The invention is characterized in that the therapy transducer (7) has a front face (9) having a total surface equal to the sum of the active surface equal to 1 500 mm2 ± 200 mm2, and the surface of the window for the passage of the imaging transducer, the ratio of the surface of the window over the active surface of the therapy transducer element being not more than 0.45.
