[origin: WO2006097336A2] The present invention relates to a novel component of the Wg/Wnt signaling pathway. In particular, the invention relates to nucleic acid molecule being homologue to the sequence of the gene CG6210 (Drosophila melanogaster), of its encoded polypeptide named 3L3 or WLS, as well as derivatives, fragments and analogues thereof. The invention relates to methods for screening for a substance that inhibits or enhances the secretion of a protein of the Wnt- family as well as to antibodies binding to said (poly)peptides.
