Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006094892A1] The invention relates to a method and device (15) for operating an internal combusting engine (1), in particular a motor vehicle, which makes it possible to optimally compensate all losses of the internal combusting engine in a half-engine operation functionality. The inventive internal combusting engine (1) comprises several cylinder banks (5, 20), wherein at least the first cylinder bank (5) can be deactivated and, when said first cylinder bank (5) is deactivated, the losses thereof are taken into consideration in the form of the second cylinder bank (10) losses, and the default value of the second cylinder bank (10) quantity is formed in several steps. During at least one step, the first cylinder bank (5) losses are injected in the form of the second cylinder bank losses in such a way that the default value is formed.
