[origin: WO2006097124A1] The invention relates to a simple and effective method and a corresponding device for adjusting the tension of a string of a stringed instrument. According to said method, a retaining section (13), which is located in or on a fixing block (5), can be displaced in relation to the latter and on which the first end of the string (6a - 6f) is fixed, is displaced by being subjected to pressure from a hydraulic fluid that is at a predeterminable pressure, in order to tension or slacken the string (6a - 6f).
