Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007020522A2] This invention relates to a method for diagnosing colorectal cancer (CRC) in a mammal, such as a human, the method comprising determining the presence, absence or level of expression of at least one marker protein in a biological sample from said mammal. It is demonstrated that the combination of metabolic labelling of colon biopsies from both normal and tumour tissues followed by 2 dimensional gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry is a powerful tool in the identification of marker proteins involved in the development of CRC.
