[origin: EP1862573A1] In an operational-error preventing device for a loom (1), a reverse-rotation prohibition angle is preliminarily set within a main-shaft-angle range in which a shedding device (50) is driven on the basis of an inverted shedding pattern. When a main-shaft angle reaches the reverse-rotation prohibition angle due to an automatic reverse rotation of a loom main shaft (24) to a set angle executed after the loom main shaft (24) has been stopped in response to an occurrence of a cause of stoppage or due to a reverse rotation executed in response to input of a reverse-rotation button signal (S3), the reverse rotation of the loom main shaft (24) is prohibited even if the reverse-rotation button signal (S3) is received.
