Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1862674A1] The centrifugal pump has a central intake opening (6) at the impeller (3), with a bush-shaped edge (13) in a sealed fit in a suction ring (9) at the intake opening (7) of the housing (1). The inner radial width of the suction ring is at least one-quarter of the inner diameter of the intake opening and preferably one-third. The intermediate space (10) from the suction ring is open towards the impeller.
