[origin: WO2006102995A1] The invention relates to a hair shaping device (10) for shaping, drying, smoothing or curling hair. Said device comprises a handle section (14) that extends along a first longitudinal axis (12) and a hair shaping section that can preferably be heated and that extends along a second longitudinal axis (16). According to the invention, the handle section (14) and hair shaping section (18) are connected by means of an articulated device (20) so that they can pivot in relation to one another and the angle (22) between the first and second longitudinal axes (12, 16) of the handle section (14) and the hair shaping section (18) can be set. The handle section (14) is equipped with a manually operated locking device (24), which can be used to lock the hair shaping section (18) at the angle (22) that has been set in relation to the handle section (14). The locking device (24) comprises one or more actuating segments (28) that are located on the handle section (14) and that release the locking device when actuated.
