[origin: WO2006104484A1] Disclosed is an apparatus and methodology for providing automatic determination of tire/wheel 10 locations mounted on a vehicle. Individually coded unique field pattern generators 40 are placed within the wheel wells of a vehicle in positions to be read by field-detecting sensors 50 associated with the tire 10 mounted on the vehicle. As the vehicle is placed in motion, elements of the unique field pattern generators 40 sweep past the field-detecting sensors 50 that are then able to "read" the data represented by the unique field patterns and thus accurately determine the tire location.
