Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006087188A1] The invention relates to a device for conveying rod-shaped articles, such as cigarettes, filter sticks, or similar. Said device comprises a continuously revolving feeding element (11) and a continuously revolving discharging element (12) for the rod-shaped articles (20). The feeding element (11) and the discharging element (12) are arranged on top of each other so as to overlap at least in part in the direction of travel (arrow 19) of the flow of articles formed by the articles in order to create a transfer zone (21) for transferring the articles (20) which are disposed on the feeding element (11) in a single layer onto the discharging element (12). The inventive device is characterized in that both the feeding element (11) and the discharging element (12) are embodied as troughed belt conveyors (13, 17) while a vacuum strip (32) which at least partly extends across the transfer zone (21) is placed in the area of one of the troughed belt conveyors (17). The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
