[origin: WO2006106246A2] The invention concerns a surgical implant for maintaining and assisting the relative movement between two successive vertebrae, said implant comprising an upper component (2) and a lower component (3) designed to be associated each with the spinous process of one of said vertebra, said components comprising each means (4, 5) for being associated with one process and means (16) for reciprocal association in rotation with the other component, said means forming a swivel joint. The surgical implant further comprises a viscoelastic element (19) interposed between the upper (2) and the lower (3) components.
