[origin: WO2006103190A1] The invention relates to a method for obtaining a flow of aliphatic hydrocarbons containing between 4 and 12 carbon atoms per molecule, with an increased quantity of linear a-olefins compared to a feed flow of aliphatic hydrocarbons containing between 4 and 12 carbon atoms per molecule, and containing linear a-olefins, linear internal olefins, and dienes. The invention is characterised in that: the feed flow is supplied to a first distillation region D1 with at least 5 theoretical separation steps; wherein the linear a-olefins are partially or completely separated as constituents of a vapour flow that also contains dienes; a liquid flow is obtained at the lower end of the first distillation region, said liquid flow being partially or completely depleted of linear a-olefins; the liquid flow obtained from the lower end of the first distillation region D1 is introduced into an isomerisation unit provided with an isomerisation catalyst on which the linear internal olefins are partially or entirely isomerised to form linear a-olefins, and the thus formed linear a-olefins are separated as constituents of a vapour flow rising in the first distillation region D1; the vapour flow rising from the first distillation region D1 enters a second reactive distillation region RD2 in a selective hydrogenation unit, wherein at least some of the dienes are selectively hydrogenated on a poorly isomerising selective hydrogenating catalyst to form olefins, thus forming a vapour flow which is distilled, completely or partially condensed, and distilled as a product flow with an increased quantity of linear a-olefins compared to the feed flow. The distillation region D1 and the reactive distillation region RD2 are integrated in a single reactive distillation column.
