[origin: WO2006103130A2] The invention relates to a method for reconstructing data values (a<SUB>i</SUB>) of a sensor signal (20) at random times (t<SUB>i</SUB>), especially in motor vehicles (10), comprising at least one sensor device (6) and at least one sensor (2, 3, 4, 5) for transmitting digital signal values via a transmission path (9) to the control device (6). The inventive method comprises the following steps: (S1) producing digital signal values from data values (a<SUB>n</SUB>) of a sensor signal (20), scanned at defined times (t<SUB>n</SUB>) in the sensor (2, 3, 4, 5) by a sensor element (11), thereby transmitting the digital signal values to the control device (6); (S2) evaluating the transmitted digital signal values using a receiver unit (7) in the control device (6); and (S3) reconstructing the data values (a<SUB>i</SUB>) of the sensor signal (20) by interpolating and/or extrapolating the received digital signal values for random times (t<SUB>i</SUB>). The invention also relates to a corresponding device and a receiver ASIC.
