Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1867597A1] The lift (1) has a leading branch (6.1) of a lift load carrier guided through a recess at a counter weight (3) for a traction sheave (5). A drive unit (4) is arranged below the counter weight in a lowermost position, drives an elevator car (2), and comprises a permanent magnet electric motor (4.1). An axis of the traction sheave and an axis of a deflection sheave (12) are arranged parallel to a counter weight sided shaft wall. A diameter of the traction sheave is not dependent upon a width of the counter weight.
