[origin: EP1867775A1] Circuit arrangement for an electric household appliance comprising an electric heating element (2) and one or more load impedances (3-5) connected in parallel with respect to electric power-supply terminals (L,M) adapted to be connected to a line voltage for supplying an alternating electric current to the heating element (2) and the load impedances (3-5), control means (6) for continuously monitoring the value of the current (9-11) flowing through the load impedances (3-5), solid-state switch means (12) connected in series with the heating element (2) and adapted to modulate the conduction cycle time of the heating element (2) for regulating the current (8) flowing through the heating element (2), said control means (6) being adapted to drive said solid-state switch means (12) such that the value of the overall current flowing into the circuit does not exceed a pre-determined limit value.
