[origin: WO2006103251A1] The invention relates to the use of at least one protein, especially at least one hydrophobin or at least one derivative thereof, for improving the phase separation in compositions containing at least two liquid phases. The invention also relates to a method for separating at least two liquid phases in a composition containing at least two liquid phases, and formulations containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of fuels, combustibles, crude oil or water-soluble or oil-soluble polymer solutions, and at least one protein, especially at least one hydrophobin or derivatives thereof.
