Abstract (en)
A chip spiral, the construction of which is such that it can be reliably and efficiently used for chipping all kinds of wood, wood products, semi-finished products, blanks, waste wood and material comparable to wood. The chip spiral comprises helical blades (18) and a frame structure (18). The blades (18) are attached to the frame structure (20) and the structure is formed so that its central part is open, whereby the chips are discharged from the chip spiral via its hub. The power requirement of the construction is smaller than in prior art while the chip production rate per time unit is larger.
