[origin: WO2006114279A1] The invention relates to a bumper (10) with supports (42) to be fastened thereto for fastening the bumper to the longitudinal beams of a vehicle. Profiled walls which are disposed at a distance to each other as the pressure chord and the tension chord and a pair of flange walls interlinking them configure a hollow profile (12). The support (42) is inserted into the longitudinal beam as an energy absorbing element and is detachably fastened and is configured as a hollow profile with a hollow profile supporting section associated with the longitudinal beam and comprises at least one lateral wall (58) and at least two adjacent transverse walls (SO). The hollow profile supporting section is an insertable section and is adapted to the inner cross-section of the longitudinal beam. The other end section of the support (42) is provided with projections (70) projecting from the front edge thereof and being oriented substantially parallel to the transverse walls (SO). An insertable profile (94) is inserted into the free end of the support (42) facing the longitudinal beam and has a cross-section that is substantially adapted to that of the support. The insertable profile is connected to the support (42) by means of screw elements (86) extending through the longitudinal axis (B) thereof. The interior of the support (42) is subdivided into at least two chambers (92, 92a) by at least one vertical wall (90). The contours of two parallel flange walls (95, 95a) of the insertable profile (94) correspond to the cross-sectional contour of the support (42). The flange wall (95a) of the insertable profile (94) facing the support (42) in the position of installation is divided in two by at least one vertical saw notch (11) and receives the vertical wall (90) of the support (42).
