[origin: DE102005003627A1] Method for coating surfaces of noble metals, or their alloys, with a solution containing a polysilazane (I) of formula -[SiH 2-NH-] n, where n produces a number average molecular weight 150-150000; solvent and catalyst. The new feature is that before coating with (I), a silane-based, sulfur-containing primer (II) is applied to the surface to improve adhesion. An independent claim is included for a coating, on a noble metal surface, prepared by the new method.
