Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006077352A1] The cleaning robot comprises a head (1), free to rotate about a first axis perpendicular to the ground with relation to a support (2), provided with roller elements (22). A reaction propulsion device is arranged in the head (1) to generate a displacement in a direction perpendicular to the first axis. A compartment (7) for storage of rubbish is provided with an opening, a filter and a device for creation of a vacuum for sucking rubbish and foreign objects present in the water into the compartment through the suction opening. The head (1) is provided with a device for generation of a static torque on the head (1) and a device (6) for generation of a dynamic torque on the head (1) such as to balance the static torque when the robot is moving in the liquid and to permit a damped rotation of the head (1) with relation to the support (2) when the above is blocked by an obstacle. The robot further comprises an additional mechanical device (37) for the intermittent modification of the balance between the static torque and the dynamic torque as a function of given angular positions of the support (2) with relation to the head (1).
