Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006111125A1] The invention concerns a method for automatically reconstruction and analyzing a travelled route, in particular for capturing tollbooths externally to the vehicle, as well as a device for implementing said method. The invention aims at providing inexpensive onboard units (30) such as mobile telephony devices mounted on board a vehicle (20), said devices serving to enter and compress position data and transmit said data to a central unit (40), which, on the basis of said compressed position data, can reconstruct the route covered by the vehicle (20). The position data analysis, in particular the determination of tollbooths, is not carried out by the onboard units (30) but by a separate device (50). The position data are therefore handled and processed in a central unit, said data can therefore be easily and rapidly adapted, for example, during an update of the road geometry.
