[origin: EP1876293A1] The procedure for damping of oscillation in a smoothing device with smooth rollers for smoothing paper, carton or another fiber material web (1) in a machine for its production, comprises guiding the material web through a smooth slit formed by two smooth rollers (2, 3, 4) pressed against each other. The smooth roller is driven on the smoothing device and possesses an elastic roller cover or roller mantle. The oscillations measured in a smooth roller, and correction-torques are initiated over a correction-drive (6) of smooth roller with frequency. The procedure for damping of oscillation in a smoothing device with smooth rollers for smoothing paper, carton or another fiber material web (1) in a machine for its production, comprises guiding the material web through a smooth slit formed by two smooth rollers (2, 3, 4) pressed against each other. The smooth roller is driven on the smoothing device and possesses an elastic roller cover or roller mantle. The oscillations measured in a smooth roller, and correction-torques are initiated over a correction-drive (6) of smooth roller with frequency that corresponds to the frequency or frequencies of the measured oscillations and leads to reduction of the oscillations. The frequency of the correction-torques is driven so that a minimum arises itself in the oscillations. The amplitude of the correction torques is enlarged until a minimum adjusts itself in the oscillations. The frequency of the correction-torques is 200-1000 Hz. The correction drive is used only for raising the correction-torque and for driving the corresponding smooth rollers. An independent claim is included for a device for damping oscillations in a smoothing device with smooth rollers for smoothing paper, cardboard/ another fiber material web in a machine for its production.
