[origin: EP1876308A2] The device has a plate-shaped core (2) with surfaces (1a, 1b) and a set of side surfaces (5) connected with the surfaces of the core. Coatings (4a, 4b) are provided for covering the surfaces of the core and are provided with grid-like holes (6). The core is partially provided with a set of grooves that are arranged parallel to each other. The grooves penetrate the surfaces of the core, and the grid-like holes flow into the coatings. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a sound absorbing device.
