[origin: WO2006117097A2] The invention relates to an electromagnetic trip device, in particular for a circuit breaker, and a contact point, comprising a yoke, a coil, a magnetic core and a magnetic armature. In the event of a short circuit current, the inventive trip device acts upon a movable contact lever for directly opening the contact point and upon a switch latch for permanently opening said contact point. The yoke and the magnetic core are configured as a single-piece, U-shaped bent punched part, the first limb of which serves as a magnetic core.
