[origin: WO2006117708A2] The present invention provides a method and apparatus for receiving TV programs, the method comprising steps of: obtaining an user configuration information, the user configuration information relating to a position information; and selectively receiving TV programs corresponding to said user configuration information. According to the method and apparatus for receiving TV programs as provided in the present invention, each receiving apparatus can generate a default configuration information based on its different location, which enables the user to receive a group of optimized and rational TV program contents, thus saving time for the user and bringing a choice of more individualized TV program contents.
