[origin: WO2006119837A1] The invention relates to a method and device for controlling a motor vehicle braking system, comprising at least one wheel brake (1) with at least one actuator (5) for actuating at least one brake element (2), the at least one actuator (5) being controllable by an electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit (6). In order to increase the reliability of the motor vehicle braking system and improve driving comfort, it is proposed that the forces acting on the mounting point (7, 11) of the at least one actuator (5) or brake element (2) be detected by a sensor (8) and converted into measurement signals (9), which are then fed to the open-loop and closed-loop control unit (6) where they are used to generate control signals (10) for open-loop or closed-loop control of the at least one actuator (5).
