[origin: WO2006119524A1] The invention relates to a device for humidifying air with a housing (1), which comprises a horizontal axis and through which air to be humidified axially flows, and with a humidifying device, which comprises a container (14) for holding a humidifying liquid and a support for the humidifying liquid submerged in the liquid bath (15) of the container (14) and extending into the housing (1). In order to create advantageous humidifying conditions, the invention provides that the support is provided in the form of a rotor (5) with a rotation axis coaxial to the housing (1), and that the support has a multitude of blades (9) distributed around the periphery of the rotor (5) and running parallel to the rotation axis, between which axial flow channels (10) for the air to be humidified are formed while extending over a radial area whose outer radius is greater than the distance of the rotation axis of the rotor (5) from the level (16) of the liquid bath (15).
