[origin: EP1880960A2] The device has a belt table (1) equipped with a perforated suction band (3) driven in a sheet transport direction and at least two suction boxes arranged in sequence with suction openings and subjected to suction air. A first suction box is arranged after the sheet stack and a second suction box (9) is arranged before the positioning table. The suction openings (10) with effective suction surfaces in the second suction box are provided over a width of the track of the suction band so that the sum of the effective surfaces reduces in the sheet feed direction (17).
