The magnesium casting process involves applying carbon-dioxide snow (5) produced by relieving pressure of liquid carbon dioxide (6) to the surface of the molten magnesium filling the pigs or molds (2) and then transporting the pigs through a cooling tunnel (9) into which the carbon dioxide, now in the form of gas (8), is supplied.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Kühlen von mit flüssiger Magnesiumschmelze gefüllten Massein oder Formen (2), wobei auf die Oberfläche der Schmelze Kohlendioxid-Schnee (5) aufgebracht wird.
