[origin: EP1881204A1] The module (11) has attachment units for attachment to an outer wall of a fluid cylinder, where the cylinder has an operating unit (19) with position sensors (21, 23) for sensitive detection of a cylinder piston provided with permanent magnets. A microcontroller (31) has a detection unit for detecting time duration and/or number of movement cycles of the cylinder using sensor signals of the sensors and for reproduction of the detected data on a display (18). A storage arrangement (32) stores the sensor data and/or operating cycles and/or characteristic data.
