Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1882670A1] The method involves moving an elevator car (30) in a well (20) by a drive (32). Another drive (42) is installed without changing the former drive, and another elevator car (40) is installed in a well. The later drive connects with the later elevator car. A control unit (52) is installed or configured, which controls the two drives. The later elevator car is installed in such a way, that the former elevator car and the later elevator car are guided at guiding rails (34) of the former elevator car.
