Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1882775A1] Following the wiper component (2) in the direction of rotation, a cooling lubricant is applied to the inside of the roller casing (1). Spacing between the wiper and lubricant application, is preferably 0.2 - 10 mm. A drain line (4) connected to the wiper, leads lubricant out and away from the pressure roller. This line (4) is connected to a source of reduced pressure. Both the lubricant drain line (4) and lubricant supply line (5) are connected to the wiper. Wiper(s) extend along more than 50%, 75%, or 90% of the roller casing length. Minimum clearance between the wiper and the roller casing internal surface, is less than 1 mm. They may make contact. The wiper is fastened to a carrier, to be pressed against the inside of the roller casing. The wiper (2) has an overflow leading a fraction of the lubricant into the internal section of the roller casing following the wiper. It alternatively has no overflow. Drained lubricant is re-processed, especially by filtration (6) and cooling (7); it is then recycled to the roller. The quantity and/or temperature of the lubricant supplied (8), is controlled as a function of the temperature of the drained lubricant.
