[origin: EP1882837A2] The device has a cylindrical` wall (1) enclosed in an internal space of the device, where the wall has a connecting flange (3) for sealed attachment at a cylinder head and/or a piston and/or a cylinder of an internal combustion engine. A suction device is connected at a venting opening (4), and an inflow opening is provided for passing fluid, in particular gas and/or air, into the wall. A radiating device irradiates the cylinder head and/or the piston and/or the wall of a combustion chamber, where the radiating device is arranged in the internal space and is actuated by hand.
