Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1882892A1] The heat exchanger has an inner pipe (1) provided with a spirally running flute on an outer shell surface (2). A pipe (5) is provided with a spiral flute (7) on an inner shell surface (6). The spiral flute (7) exhibits a same pitch like that of the former flute. An elastic deformable seal (9) is held in the flute of one of the pipes (1, 5), where the seal lies on the shell surface of the other pipe sealingly and under pressing. The two flutes are shifted against each other axially. The seal is made of spring steel, where the seal engages in the flute (7) with a play. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a spiral heat exchanger.
