[origin: WO2006117443A1] The invention relates to a method for working on the periphery of an ophthalmic lens (L) with an edge (C), whereby the edge of the lens is ground using a first grinder (31) which is mounted in such a way that it can rotate about a rotational axis (A4). According to the invention, during the edge grinding, the first grinder, in addition to rotating about the rotational axis, has a tilting mobility with two degrees of freedom about two separate pivoting directions which are essentially transversal to the rotational axis.
