[origin: FR2904104A1] The device (9) has a firing control unit (10) e.g. pivoting lever, connected to a firing computer (11) which is connected to sensors (12, 13), where the firing computer determines firing instant with respect to data relative to a firing environment. The computer has an information processing unit (14) authorizing two firing instant determination modes that respectively give priority to precision of firing and speed of firing. The firing control unit selects one mode or the other mode to enable the computer to implement information processing at the level of the information processing unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling firing for a weapon system mounted on a vehicle.
