Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006119526A1] The invention concerns a method for the batch heat-treatment of annealing product, which in an annealing chamber, from which the air is first flushed using flush gas, is heated to the treatment temperature in an inert gas atmosphere, different quantities of the inert gas being fed through the annealing chamber according to the amount of impurities. In order to allow economical use of the inert gas, it is proposed that the inert gas which is withdrawn following the main accumulation of impurities and which is charged with a residual quantity of impurities be optionally fed to the annealing chamber, following temporary storage, for subsequent charging during the main accumulation of impurities, before inert gas with no impurities is introduced into the annealing chamber.
