[origin: WO2006122755A1] The invention relates to a safety lock (1) for a door, a gate or the like. Said lock comprises a profile cylinder (12) which is actuated by a key and provided with a toothed wheel (31) in the area of its closing latch (33). Said toothed wheel (31) has a recess (40) for the closing latch (33) and interacts with a set of gears the output gear (41) of which acts upon at least one translationally displaced locking bar (6, 7) which has a toothed section (8, 9). The at least one locking bar (6, 7) can be actuated from inside the door, the gate or the like by means of a manually actuated element (10) and/or the profile cylinder (12) and from the outside only by means of the profile cylinder (12). A blocking device interacts with the at least one locking bar (6, 7).
