[origin: EP1886723A1] A variable static mixer (100) and system for accommodating variable and different flows in a pipeline (24) so as to produce maximum mixing efficiency including a first mixer (10) mounted in the pipeline (24) and a second mixer (102) mounted in the pipeline at a downstream location wherein the second mixer (102) has a plate (18) with a mixing orifice (22) which plate is adapted to move between non-mixing and mixing positions.
