Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006128955A2] The invention relates to a collecting chamber in the manufacture of mineral fibres. The collecting chamber comprises a first end towards a fiberising apparatus and a second end towards a collecting member. Between the first and second end a ceiling, and a first and a second side wall are arranged. The cross section of the first end of the collecting chamber has a first area, and the cross section of the second end has a second area, which cross sections are defined by a ceiling, the first and second side wall as well as a cross section plane that horizontally touches the lowest rotor of the fiberising apparatus at its lower edge. The collecting chamber comprises a waist, the length of which is at least 100 mm and the cross section of which has a third area which is at the most 10 % larger than the first area and smaller than the second area. The invention also relates to a method in the manufacture of mineral fibres.
