The air-conditioner includes: a standby mode performed before an air-conditioning function begins; an operation mode for indicating that the air-conditioning function is in progress; and a function selection mode for allowing a user to select a variety of functions. The air-conditioner can enable the user to easily recognize air-conditioning state information, indoor environment information, and other information, such that the user can effectively employ not only basic functions of the air-conditioner but also other additional functions.
