[origin: WO2006131468A1] A device for detecting an electric current has a plurality of magnetic field probes (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) which are distributed radially about a main axis (1) and are arranged essentially in one plane. The magnetic field probes (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) are equipped with a shield (3a, 3b) which protects against the influence of magnetic interference fields. The shield (3a, 3b) can have a wall which extends in the direction of the main axis (1) adjacent to the magnetic field probes (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) and/or which extends in the radial direction.
