[origin: WO2006134127A1] The invention relates to a bleaching device (38) and to a method for bleaching non-woven fibrous materials in a suspension, particularly in the form of pulp or fiber slurry, in or on a treatment volume provided by delimiting walls, whereby the suspension can be filled into or permitted to flow through the treatment volume, with at least one first electrode (43'). A bleaching action is brought about by a high-voltage pulse generator (46), which is connected to the first electrode (43') and with which a plasma can be generated in the treatment volume and/or in the immediate surrounding area thereof. The invention further decreases the use of chemicals for bleaching fibrous substances.
