To this end, an evaluation means is provided for the purpose of evaluating the received signals, a memory is provided for the purpose of storing characteristic patterns, the stored patterns of which are compared with the evaluated signals, and a conclusion can thus be drawn as regards the class of the reflecting objects on the basis of the comparison.
