Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006131610A1] The invention concerns sealed electrical connectors of the type wherein sealing is obtained by compressing a seal using a mobile elements. The invention also concerns an electrical connector comprising a housing, receiving at least one contact (2) provided with a first terminal (3) for connection to a complementary contact and with a second terminal (4) connected to a cable, the housing including: a module (5) for receiving the contact (2); a slide (8) for compressing a sealing grommet (9) on said cable, mobile between a retracted position for inserting the contacts and an advanced position compressing the grommet (9); a front cover (10) capable of being maneuvered between an advanced position for preventing connection with a complementary connector and a retracted position allowing insertion of the complementary contacts. The slide (8) being provided with first means (12) for preventing the cover (10) from being maneuvered, being retracted when the slide (8) is in advanced position.
