Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1891872A1] The device has an automatic drive mechanism provided for moving the movable portions e.g. height-adjustable table top (1), and a control device is adapted to control the drive mechanism. A sensor (4) is adapted to detect a collision during the movement of the movable portion with an obstacle and to transmit to the control device. The sensor is adapted to detect the bending change of the movable portion. The sensor contains a piezoelectric material, and a piezoelectric diaphragm is provided as the sensor. An independent claim is also included for a procedure for detecting collision with automatically movable portions of furniture with obstacles.
